In order to create successful students, teachers must first cater to their interests. Planning and creating interesting unit topics which involves all aspects of English (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) is essential. Once students are engaged, they will be provided with the proper tools they need to work with the material. These tools include examples of work, vocabulary booklets, and adequate practice with new and old skills. After students are engaged and understand the material, we can focus on skills and topics that extend outside of the classroom which will ultimately create a wise, goal- oriented, happy, and creative citizen. Some of these extended topics include racism and inclusion, the meaning of life, healthy relationships, and the role of government and individuals.Learning is not an individual process and it works best when everyone supports the student from all aspects of life. I hope that together we can watch our long-term efforts flourish into greatness.
